Early last week we put together a list of the best upcoming open world games that gamers can expect in 2014 and we figured we’d continue this week. So, for today’s Daily Five, we’re releasing our five, best upcoming first-person shooters that are expected to release this year. Of course, with first-person shooters being as large as they are, it’s impossible to fit all of them on a list of five, but we nailed it down pretty well. If there are any other first-person shooters you’re looking forward to this year, we’d love to hear about them in the comment sections below.
Check out our Daily Five below and leave your thoughts.
Call of Duty: Advanced Combat
When it comes to milking an annual franchise outside of the sports genre, nobody else does it better than Activision with Call of Duty. The giant publisher has done a fantastic job cashing in on this cash cow every year without any second thoughts. This year, Activision looks like it plans to up its ante when it releases its current-gen version of Call of Duty entitled ‘Advanced Combat.’
Activision not only has brought on House of Cards star, Kevin Spacey, but they’ve also taken a page out of Titanfall’s playbook as well as others. Advanced Combat looks like it is going to include mech suits, wall climbing, further futuristic weaponry, and so much more. It finally feels like it’s going to be the next step in the Call of Duty franchise.
Whether you’re a fan or not, it’s a sure thing that Advanced Combat is going to sell well and be considered one of the premium online titles late this year. So, if you’re a fan of online shooters, this is likely going to be your best bet.
