With the release of Outlast on the PlayStation 4 yesterday, many of us were finally able to get our hands on this terrifying title. This was made even easier for PlayStation Plus members as the game was free to us on the PlayStation Store. However, after jumping several times while playing, it got us thinking about what games should be avoided if there are no lights on let alone if it’s dark outside as well. We’ve put together a list of the five games to avoid in the dark — especially if you’re a weakling who is afraid of everything.
Let us know if we missed a game below.
Outlast involves you paying as a journalist that is headed to a creepy, supposedly haunted asylum to find out exactly what’s going on at the facility. To make matters worse, your character is completely useless outside of picking up documents, batteries, and opening doors. That means he’s defenseless and stands no chance against any enemies you may encounter. In fact, the game suggests you just run away rather than confront anything suspicious. This goes a long way into making the game a lot more scary than it should be.
I’ll be the first to admit that Outlast scares the crap out of me. In fact, this game wouldn’t even be safe for me to play in the middle of the day with the lights on in the room and a weapon beside me. I’d still find some reason to be scared while working my way through the asylum to figure things out. I’m doomed — I know.
