Sony and Sucker Punch released inFamous: Second Son last week to wide critical success and its release resulted in the boost of PlayStation 4 sales worldwide. Second Son is a fantastic game and is easily a game of the year candidate for 2014, but in the end, it’s not as great as inFamous 2 was and is. Today, we’re going to discuss exactly what makes inFamous 2 the king of the franchise and, whether you agree or disagree, we’d love to hear as to why in the comment section below.
We’re not going to dive into any spoilers for inFamous: Second Son and we’re sure you played the original, but after playing both, their stories just don’t hold up to inFamous 2. This could be because inFamous 2 was set up by the events of the original which gave it a leg up, but that doesn’t change the overall result. inFamous 2 offered a great new look at Man vs. Beast (literally) in order to save humanity or the conduits. Sadly, this decision has since become less important as Second Son has made the decision for you.
Cole’s struggles throughout the game helped shape the story and build a stronger connection with the user. Your choices in infamous 2 meant something and they changed the facet of the game as you went along. These additions on top of the narrative and great cast of characters made inFamous 2′s story that much more compelling.
