Grand Theft Auto V Map Revealed? It’s Massive

September 10, 2013 | By | 13 Comments

It’s hard to argue against Grand Theft Auto V being one of the most highly anticipated games of this generation, so it’s not too shocking to see that some things are leaking out that a lot of us wishes were kept a bit more quiet. However, it turns out someone has now leaked an image from the strategy guide that shows off the entire map of GTAV. At this point it’s an understatement to say that this thing is massive.

We’ve included an image of the map below. Do you think it’s big enough?

  • Edward La Guardia

I know that the map is gonna be huge and Rockstar has stated it is going to be bigger than IV, RDR, and San Andreas combined…however how can David say that the map is huge based on the picture…there is no point of reference or scale to understand how big it is relative to anything else.

My point is: I know it’s gonna be massive based on what we’ve been told, but I don’t think this visual representation shows that it’s gonna be massive because we don’t have anything to compare it to.

  • JK

    Not as big as Skyrim

    • Velox

It’s easy to be as big as Skyrim is when your entire map is the same thing everywhere. We also won’t have to deal with recycled combat mechanics or millions of bugs in GTAV either.

      • Jon ‘Jonny’ Preece

        or crazy long loading screens

    • Scots

That’s true. It’s also true that this is the epitome of an apples to oranges comparison.

  • Andrew Arnold

Alls I know is they better have all the little bells & whistles that made SA the gem that it was. All the ones they left out of IV.

  • Belgarion

It looks like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle…

  • Chase

Anyone else worried that there’s too much empty space? That was my only complaint about Red Dead, too much empty space to travel through to get back to civilization. I didn’t say much about it in that game though because it helped make it feel like you were in the old west. I know they’ve added a few things to make the less populated areas more entertaining, just hope that area of the map isn’t as boring as it looks. Then again, who knows what it looks like when you zoom in closer. There could be small towns and stuff placed around so it’s not just a bunch of open land.

    • Scots

Always a tough balance between making it awesomely big and making sure there’s enough activity to fill the space. Something tells me we won’t be bored.

      • Chase

I have a lot of faith in Rockstar and GTA so you’re probably right. They’re trying to make the landscape as realistic as possible and cover as much of the environmental spectrum as they can. It’s just a little worrisome seeing that 2/3′s of the map is woodland and water.
