Minecraft for PS4 Fails Certification, Gets Delayed

PlayStation 4 owners looking to get their Minecraft fix will have to continue to wait. Developer 4J Studios revealed in a Tweet sent out yesterday that “Sony found some issues we have to fix in their final test of [Minecraft PS4]. We’re fixing, but we need to go through the process again.”

Apparently, Sony found some kind of glaring issue(s) with the PS4 edition of the mega-popular blocky adventure/building title in the very final testing stages that resulted in 4J Studios going back to the drawing board. Whatever these errors were, they must have been significant indeed in order for Sony to refuse to publish the game on PSN. While this certainly means a delay for Minecraft on the current gen system, we have no idea when it will be delayed to. Hopefully, the team can get everything back on track and have a new release candidate prepared for the upcoming holiday season.

Are you disappointed about this setback for Minecraft? Were you looking forward to playing the pixelated powerhouse soon? Can you keep yourself entertained with the PS3 version for now? Let us know in the comments.
