Sony has just announced that the PS Vita Slim will be making its way to North America, including a bundle featuring the upcoming portable version of Borderlands 2 to be available at launch for $199.
The slim model Vita had already been released in Japan late last year, and was recently released in Europe. For now, we only know that the redesigned handheld and Borderlands 2 will be released in North America sometime this spring.
John Koller, Vice President of Marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment America, confirmed that Borderlands 2 on Vita will feature full four-player cooperative play and support cross-save functionality with the PlayStation 3 version. This of course ensures that the hours players already put in at home won’t go to waste when they take it on the road. Koller also confirmed that all six of the DLC packs that Gearbox has previously released will be included with the PS Vita version.
It’s an exciting time for the PlayStation Vita, a system that can seriously use a boost. Are you picking up a Slim model or Borderlands 2? A bundle, perhaps? Let us know!
