If this rumor turns out to be true, consumers are going to want to shop for a HDD upgrade for their PlayStation 4 before it has even launched. A picture was leaked onto Twitter yesterday afternoon that showed the box art for Call of Duty: Ghosts on the PS4. Noticeable on the back cover was the box saying that the game requires a minimum of 49gb of space on the PS4 HDD. This seems to suggest that Ghosts is going to have a massive required install. For those who are unaware, the PS4 ships with only a 500gb HDD.
This isn’t the only game expected to have a huge installation size. Reports surfaced yesterday that Killzone: Shadow Fall, the much anticipated launch title from Guerrilla Games, would require a hefty 39.7gb of hard drive space.
Whether these installs are in fact required or optional is not yet known. Hopefully, Sony offers some sort of confirmation or denial before the PlayStation 4 launches on November 15th. Until then, see below for a zoomed-in shot of the box art in question:
