The Daily Five: Games to Play by the Beach

July 23, 2013 | By | No Comments

The summer is a great time to hit the beach, the pool, or just laze around and get some good old fashion gaming done. It doesn’t matter if you’re off for the summer from school or work a 9-to-5 and just need some down time, gaming can be a great escape and an excellent way to kill time. So far there have been a good chunk of games released since the end of last summer and still some to come this year, but we’ve compiled a list of both old and new to help get you through the summer heat.

Check em out and let us know if you think anything else should be a part of this list.

Dragon’s Crown

Muramasa Rebirth was delivered to Vita owners in July, but August brings an even more anticipated title in the form of Vanillaware’s Dragon’s Crown. This Vita title is available on PlayStation 3 as well and has been widely scrutinized around the industry for its over-the-top art style and presentation. Fortunately for us, we couldn’t care less about that and just appreciate the sheer customization being made available as well as the quality release making its way to a great handheld.

Persona 4 Golden

Persona 4 Golden is arguably one of the best PlayStation Vita titles to date and it’s safe to say that you can reasonably get 75 hours of it. Considering the retail price is a mere $40, that’s one hell of a deal for any gamer. P4G also comes with the added bonus of being able to play it pretty much anywhere since it’s on a portable platform. This means that if your parents or significant other is dragging you somewhere you don’t want to go, you can always escape to Inaba and take it easy.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

PlayStation Vita fans have Persona 4 Golden but Nintendo 3DS owners have Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Honestly, it would be hard to fit everything you can do in this game into a short little paragraph, but it’s safe to say this game can consume your entire life. If you’re looking to fish out of the 100 degree heat or you just want to go deep-sea diving for some tasty catch, New Leaf has you covered. In fact, New Leaf can pretty much cover you in a bunch of outdoor activities without the heat. Be cautious though because bees and mosquitoes lie in waiting.
