This is our first entry into our “Top 5 Reasons” editorials leading up to the PlayStation 4 Launch on November 15th. We’ve created these editorials as a way to give gamers five reasons why we’d consider picking up a specific launch title with our PlayStation 4 consoles next week.
As many of you are aware, EA Sports has been hard at work creating a brand new engine and next-gen football experience with Madden 25. We’ve brought together the five best reasons why, if you’re a fan of football, you need to take the next-gen leap next week and pick up Madden 25 with your PlayStation 4. If you already have M25 for PlayStation 3, we suggest upgrading as needed.
EA has been touting its Ignite Engine as something to look out for coming into next-gen sports title for awhile and it’s probably a good thing too. While FIFA 14 will have this great engine as well, Madden 25 is probably going to benefit the most from these changes as the last-gen engine was starting to feel stale and old. It’s hard to argue against progress and I think those people who feel Madden is taking one step forward and two steps back are going to be in for a surprise.
Offensive Line & Defensive Line Interaction
One of the biggest improvements we’re going to see from PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4 is the interaction between the offensive and defensive lines in Madden. Before, these interactions looked very scripted and the defensive line was often neutered from ever being truly a driving force within the game. However, as this video shows above, the interaction has been taken to an entirely new level of play. Linemen are more engaging and you can see that the actions on screen don’t seem to be nearly as scripted as they used to. This is a huge differential for those of us who play this game on a yearly basis.
