Wealthy Box – Beyond: Two Souls & More

October 7, 2013 | By | No Comments

It’s Monday, which means that it’s high time for another edition of Wealthy Box, where we scour the internet for discounts and deals on the latest games. This week sees one AAA game amongst a slew of smaller releases; no matter your tastes, there’s probably something for you.

There aren’t any straight-up discounts on the game itself, but there are a couple of deals to be found for Beyond: Two Souls. You have the rest of today to preorder at GameStop to get a free upgrade to the their exclusive Special Edition. This edition includes a steelbook case, a soundtrack, an addition 30-minute playable scene, a dynamic theme, PSN avatars, and a bevy of behind-the-scenes features. Meanwhile, Best Buy is offering a $50 discount when you package the game with a Pulse Wireless Headset.

Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition is out this week — which includes over $100 of DLC — and Amazon is offering the PlayStation 3 version at a 10% discount for $54.99.

Codemasters seems to be opting for a digital-only release of F1 2013, but PlayStation Plus subscribers can grab the game for 10% off. There’s a regular edition, which includes some classic ’80s drivers and race courses, and a Classic Edition which throws in drivers and tracks from the ’90s. I’d shell out the extra cash for the Classic Edition myself.

There are rumblings that Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness comes with a GameStop-exclusive soundtrack and art book, but there’s no mention of it on the product page. However, searching for the game boasts “BONUS – Includes GameStop Bonus!” so interested parties would do well to call their local store ahead of time before committing.

Finally, Ubisoft has dropped any pretense and embraced the annualization of it’s motion dance franchise with Just Dance 2014 hitting shelves. At Target, you can score a $10 gift card when you buy the game along with bag of Cheetos. Yes, really. No, we don’t know either.

That’s all we’ve got for you this week, and next week is looking more than a little bare. Hopefully we’ll be able to scrounge up some deals on games that released within the last month or so to help fill that void. Until next time.
